Hello! I’m Lisa, a developmental and line editor, book coach, and ghostwriter. I work with traditional and self-published authors to curate their voices, discover the souls of their novels, and create the most compelling ways to write their narratives.
My mission is to work with those who are trying to revolutionize the publishing industry, and create a fairer and more diverse landscape from which authors from every background can benefit. We all have stories to share, and each of us deserves an equal chance to bring them into the world. It’s my desire to put out incredible books with stories that demand to be told because that’s what readers deserve.
From the inkling of an idea to sentence construction to big-picture elements, I will work with you through what can often feel like an isolating and impossible journey, no matter the chosen mode of publishing. But remember: You are not alone, and we are all a work in progress.
“If you want a professional job, look no further. You will not be disappointed. Lisa is one of the best.”
— Mark K. McClain, Multi-award-winning author of the ruinous curse series
My editorial approach is rooted in incisiveness and compassion. The goal of every edit I do is take elevate your voice and unpack and polish your manuscript’s emotional truth and meaning so that it will stay with audiences long after they have finished reading.
I have worked with several literary agencies and editing companies, and I have been nose-deep in slush piles for my fair share of time. I can help you make your query letter, synopsis, sample pages, and book proposal stand out among the rest.
My ghostwriting approach is one of total client care that ensures comfortability, security that your voice and message will be preserved and respected, and a truly collaborative interview process through which we will venture together into the weeds of ideation and writing and resurface with your vision brought to life.
