About Lisa

Welcome! I’m a Chinese American editor, book coach, and ghostwriter based in California’s Central Valley. In a past life, I was a magazine journalist; I wrote for The Davis Enterprise, TheSixFifty at Embarcadero Media, and the Monterey Bay Parent. And if I didn’t switch to publishing, I’d probably still be there, digging up stories and developing new angles that resonate with target readerships because I truly believe that writing and reading can change our lives—and our world—for the better.

I am a professionally trained editor (developmental, line, copy) and ghostwriter, all specialties that I spent years honing at LCS Literary and the now-defunct ArtHouse Literary. I edit fiction and nonfiction, ghostwrite eye-catching book proposals and the occasional nonfiction manuscript, and am in the throes of creating my own magical work.

Currently, I freelance for LCS Literary, Artful Editor, and PlanetSARK. As a voracious reader of just about everything, I still have my preferences. I favor literary fiction, fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, thrillers, and memoirs. But I’m especially drawn to anything that grounds me in a world either too beautiful or too terrible to leave, or a story that provides rich insights into the complexities of human nature. Love-to-hate or hate-to-love characters are my absolute favorites.
